Rome, November 4 - Italian pop star Laura Pausini on Friday released a collection of her favorite Christmas songs with a touch of swing.
Titled LauraXMas, it was released in over 60 countries just a few weeks after Pausini netted her 11th Record of the Year nomination at the Latin Grammys for Lado Derecho del Corazon (Right Side of the Heart), the Spanish version of her 2015 album Simili (Similars).
Pausini wanted to work on the project with leading American composer Patrick Williams, who recorded the album in the iconic Capitol Studios in Los Angeles.
The album contains 12 tracks including such classics as Let It Snow, Jingle Bells, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Oh Happy Day, and Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.
"Christmas is a special time, which has become even more special since my daughter Paola was born," Pausini said.
"This is the soundtrack of Christmas with my family, and I feel excited to know it can become part of other people's homes with my voice and my well wishes".
The album crowns a successful year "that gave me great satisfaction", the pop star added.
"I received the 11th nomination for a Grammy," noted the singer, who has already won three Latin Grammys and one Grammy Award.
The Latin Grammy Awards ceremony will he held November 17 in Las Vegas.
The pop star also has a nomination at the International Emmy Awards for La Banda and won an Italian television Oscar for her show Laura e Paola (Laura and Paola) alongside comedic actress Paola Cortellesi.
Pausini has just wrapped up her Simili World Tour in the United States, Canada and Europe.
She will not be touring with her new album but will officially present it in Europe on November 24 with a concert at Disneyland Paris.
Pausini called it "a truly magical place for such an album".
The artist also said what she wants for Christmas is to be able to dedicate the coming year to herself. "Then I can start writing a new album," Pausini concluded. (Ansa)
