It will be attended by MPs, NGOs, foreign diplomats, and experts on human rights and civil society. The aim is to set up in Italy a national independent body focusing on the issue. The President of the Extraordinary Commission for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights in the Italian Senate, Luigi Manconi, will participate, together with the president of the Permanent Committee on Human Rights in the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Mario Marazziti. Also there will be Emma Bonino, former foreign affairs minister, the secretary general of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions, Debbie Kohner, and Antonio Papisca, professor at the University of Padua. The event will close with a debate moderated by Gianludovico de Martino, chair of CIDU. (AGI)
