Fiat Chrysler up 19.3 pct in July, more than market trend

Rome - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles's (FCA) sales peaked in July for the seventh consecutive month, outperforming market trends as in all the preceding months of 2015, FCA said in a statement. In July, FCA sales grew 19.3 percent to more than 37,000, while its market share rose 1.1 percent to 28.3 percent.

The Italian Ministry of Transport reported in a statement that during the same month of July, the Vehicle Licensing Agency registered 131,489 new cars, up 14.54 percent from July 2014, when 114,793 new cars were registered. In June 2015, 147,332 new cars were registered, up 14.86 percent from June 2014, which recorded 128,272 new registrations. In July 2014, 406,614 used cars were sold, up 11.59 percent from July 2014, when 364,390 used-car sales were registered. In June 2015, the number of used cars sold were 366,431, up 13.48 percent from June 2014, when 322,909 used-car sales were registered. The total 538,103 cars sold in July 2015 were broken down as follows: 24.44 percent new cars and 75.56 percent used cars. In the period from January to July 2015, the Vehicle Licensing Agency registered a total of 1,005,409 cars, up 15.19 percent from the same period of 2014, when 872,856 cars were registered. From January to July of 2015, 2,690,806 used-car sales were registered, up 8.73 percent from the same period of 2014, which registered 2,474,716 used-car sales. (AGI)
