More than 1, 000 migrants rescued at sea every day

Geneva - The number of migrants saved from the Mediterranean each day exceeds 1,000, according to the International Organisation for Migration (OIM). Most rescues take place off the Italian and Greek coasts.

The number of migrants who have crossed the Mediterranean to Europe has risen to 237,000 and has already exceeded the total number for 2014.
  The organisation said that at this rate the number of landings will rise to 250,000 by the end of this month. In 2014 they totalled 219,000. (AGI)
