Pesaro - President of the Chamber of Commerce of Pesaro-Urbino, Alberto Drudi, commented on the "positive" growth in exports from Pesaro in the first half of the year.

The total of 1.14 billion euros given by national statistics agency ISTAT is 9.34 percent higher than the same period of 2014, even though there has been "a clear decrease to Russia".
"The loss of market share to Moscow has reached very worrying levels," he continued. The 25.3 percent drop to 45.9 million euros is mainly due to the embargo ordered by Brussels, in relation to which the EU is distinguishing itself by a guilty silence." The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Pesaro will be at Mebel in Minsk next week, "to organise the attendance, in September 2016, of furniture makers from Marche region: an opportunity to work in that market, which increasingly represents a possible outlet to the markets of the East, including Russia." According to Mr Drudi, this is "a trend that leads to moderate optimism and that results from the greater awareness on the part of companies, which have to be increasingly active on foreign markets, the only chance to build a more solid recovery". The president of the Chamber of Commerce has just returned from a mission to Beijing and Shanghai. Indeed the figures for China as a whole are very positive, with 20.9 million euros of products exported, a rise of 44.99 percent and 94.9 million imported, an increase of 38.72 percent. This is "a sign of the vitality of Pesaro companies and the economy of that country, which continues to grow at a pace unthinkable for the economies of the rest of the world," he concluded. (AGI)
