"The police know he is in Libya. I don't understand why they came here to terrorise us and search our home," said the 28 year-old's taxi driver father, Mohammad Najib Tayari. The man explained that his son had left their home in a Tunis suburb seven months ago, without saying where he was going. However, he did phone them from time to time, saying that he was in Libya, without providing a precise location. "The young people who go to Libya to reach Europe don't tell their parents because they know they would try to stop them. It could also be that he is frightened and has decided to stay," said Mohammad. However, the father is sure of his son's innocence: "Everything is possible but I don't think my son would do such a thing. I have not raised my children to be criminals," he stressed. (AGI)
