The ISIL militant group has claimed responsibility for the New Year’s Day shooting rampage in a nightclub in Istanbul.

Russia mourns plane crash victims

Flags are being flown at half mast both at the Kremlin and across Russia, as the country held a national day of mourning on Monday for the 92 victims on board the Tu-154 military jet. All are feared dead.
A Russian defence ministry plane, carrying 92 people on route to Syria, has crashed into the Black Sea near Sochi.
Tunisia has detained three suspected jihadists said to be linked to supposed Berlin truck attacker  Anis Amri, including one of his nephews.
