And of course it had to be Napoli’s former hitman Gonzalo Higuain who inevitably sealed the win in a tense clash in Turin.
If Higuain wasn’t hated enough by his former club’s faithful after moving to Juventus for an Italian transfer record fee of 90m euros in the summer he certainly is now following Saturday’s result.
The Argentina International hit the winner on 71 minutes to hand Juve a 2-1 victory over Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli.
Higuain was mindful though not to celebrate after hitting his seventh league goal of the season.
His match winner came after Jose Callejon cancelled out Leonardo Bonucci’s 50th minute opener.
Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam had a game to forget as his defensive errors led to both of Juve’s goals.
As Napoli slipped to fifth in the league Juventus stretched their lead at the summit to five points over Roma while they are six clear of Milan after 11 games played. (Euronews)
