Olympic champion Kjetil Jansrud produced a stunning performance to clinch the super-G in Val Gardena on Friday.

The 31-year-old, who secured his first World Cup race in 2012, dominated his opponents from the outset and completed the tricky Saslong course in an impressive time of 1 minute and 31.99 seconds, enough to secure a hard-fought win. Jansrud’s teammate Aleksander Aamodt Kilde looked in great shape and came home second to extend Norway’s recent dominance in the World Cup speed events while Canadian veteran Erik Guay completed the podium.

Elsewhere, llka Stuhec came from behind to clinch a World Cup Alpine combined race in Val d’Isere. Sitting third after the downhill, the Slovenian sensation stepped it up a gear during the slalom en route to her third victory of the season. The 26-year-old topped the standings with a total time of 2 minutes and 40.33 seconds to gain a maximum 100 points. She finished 0.12 seconds ahead of Michelle Gisin with Italy’s Sofia Goggia having to settle for third place. (Euronews)
