Argentina forward Carlos Tevez has become the latest high-profile player to join the Chinese Super League after Shanghai Shenhua confirmed on Thursday they have signed the 32-year old from his boyhood club Boca Juniors.

Although no details were given over the contract, reports suggest he is set to become the highest paid player in world football earning a jaw-dropping and table-topping 40 million euros a year for two years.

Tevez returned to Argentina last year after a decade in Europe.

He had spells in England with West Ham and title-winning stints with Manchester United and Manchester City.

He also spent two seasons in Italy with Juventus where he won the league title in each campaign.

Tevez now the second big-money arrival in China’s topflight in a week after Shanghai SIPG signed Chelsea’s Oscar. (Euronews)
