The show, entitled "You are Art - Andy Warhol + Mimmo Rotella Art Exhibition" and organised by the Italian MetaMorfosi Cultural Association and by the Shanghai-based Resource Valley IMC in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, is scheduled to run for three months. "The two artists represent a certain modernity, with a constant focus on personal experience, an all-inclusive experimental work on anything their glance might fall on and that they feel to be touching, fascinating and, to some extent, necessary to their and to our world of fantasy," explained Francesco Gallo Mazzeo, the curator of the exhibition. He added: "Warhol felt the allure and the weight of mass media in shaping all types of images that accompany all of our days, from morning to nightfall, and he draws inspiration from these for his chromatic representations and for his new icons of everyday life." Mr Mazzeo continued: "Rotella, with his 'decollages', gives an artist's response to the rudimentary mythology of cinema, ripping apart its posters, designed to be short-lived, and turning them into the metaphor of the passing of time, stopping it in some way and crystallising it." He concluded: "Put together like two paradoxical twins, they represent the two shores of the Atlantic - so similar yet so different, two Pop Art ways of feeling free to do avant-garde, but with a profound knowledge of colour and drawing, making richly original art."
