The boy, Ali Saad Daubasha, burned to death during an attack by Israeli settlers in the village of Duma. His parents, Saad and Reham, and four-year-old brother Ahmad were seriously injured and are in hospital in Nablus. The father was able to save his wife and elder son, but was prevented from finding the boy in the smoke and darkness, said witnesses. At least four settlers threw Molotov cocktails (petrol bombs) at the house and sprayed "revenge" and "long live the Messiah" in Hebrew on the walls.
  They had broken the windows before lobbing the explosives to make sure they fell inside the house. "We are faced with an attack that would appear to have nationalist motives," said Israeli police spokesman Luba Samri. Israeli premier, Benjamin Netanyahu said he was "devastated" by the tragedy. "It is a clear act of terrorism and Israel will act harshly against whoever prove to be the attackers." He said he had told Palestine President Abu Mazen that "we must fight terrorism together, no matter where it comes from". The army has set up road blocks and deployed troops to track down the attackers.
  Tension is running high after Hamas declared Friday the "Day of Rage" following the clashes at Temple Mount. Mr Netanyahu's declarations have failed to convince Saeb Erekat, deputy chief of the Palestine Liberation Organisation, who said "this barbarous attack cannot be dissociated from a government that represents a coalition for colonisation and apartheid".
