Amsterdam - Ettore Scola's tribute to Federico Fellini lands in Amsterdam where, on Thursday, the Italian Cultural Institute will show "Che strano chiamarsi Federico'.

The documentary film was made to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Fellini's death. It is a collection of material and unreleased footage paying homage to the poetic and dream-like world of a magnificent artist, from his first years in Rome as a cartoonist to his first meeting with Scola - including reminiscences of shared friends and visits to Cinecitta movie sets. The piece was written by Scola together with his daughters Paola and Silvia and interpreted in part by his grandchildren Giacomo and Tommaso. Cinema critic Massimo Benvegnu will introduce the documentary. The event has been organised by the Italian Cultural Institute together with Rai Cinema, and is part of the event 'Un'estate al cinema' which has selected the best recent films and docufilms not yet distributed in the Netherlands. Among the works selected are Mario Martone's 'Il giovane favoloso', Ferzan Ozpetek's 'Allacciate le cinture', Pif's 'La mafia uccide solo d'estate' and Riccardo Milani's 'Scusate se esisto'. (AGI)
