Rome - Chelsea are said to be pursuing Paul Pogba, despite resistance from Juventus. Jose Mourinho is hoping to exploit the last 10 days of the transfer window to entice the midfielder to Stamford Bridge for a transfer fee of some 84 million euros.

Mourinho wants to include Juan Cuadrado and Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior (known simply as Oscar) in the deal, both of whom Massimiliano Allegri is said to be keen to acquire. However, after losing Andrea Pirlo, Carlos Tevez and Arturo Vidal, Juventus are reluctant to add Pogba to the list, and Juventus Director General Giuseppe Marotta says the club's transfer campaign is closed. Mourinho said he had no intention of behaving "like Allegri, who has talked all summer about Chelsea's Oscar and Ramires (Ramires Santos do Nascimento)". Juventus is said still to be thinking about Schalke's rejection of their bid for Julian Draxler, although talks are apparently continuing, despite both sides keeping their distance. Meanwhile, there is talk of Willian Borges da Silva (known simply as Willian) heading for Juventus. Borussia Dortmund is rumoured in the British press to have received and accepted a 20 million euro offer from Liverpool for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, whom Juventus also had in their sights. Meanwhile Arsene Wenger says Mesut Oezil is committed to Arsenal and that he is intent on keeping Joel Campbell, despite interest from Palermo. After weeks of talks, Wolfsburg is said to be ready to let Ivan Perisic go to Inter, although the Croatian striker - who turned down the offer of a new contract until 2017 - will play in Cologne on Saturday. Inter have pushed up their offer to include an immediate six million down payment and a compulsory 13 million surrender next summer. AS Roma are said to be resigned to the idea of losing Kevin De Bruye to Manchester City, and will respond to the club's offer by Monday. Perisic's agent Tonci Martic said "all we need is a reply and certainties from Wolfsburg". Inter directors Piero Ausilio and Marco Fassone have refused Lyon's offer for Marcelo Brozovic. Prices for Fabio Coentrao, said to be on Paris Saint Germain's radar, have fallen. Monaco have rebuffed PSG's bid for left-back Layvin Kurzawa and are said to want 30 million euros for him. (AGI)
