Verona (Italy) - The exhibition 'Picasso. Figure (1895-1972)', the first part of a new project with the Picasso Museum in Paris, will open in Verona on October 15.

The Museo Amo - Arena Museo Opera will be hosting the exhibition, sponsored by the city council and organized by the Arthemisia Group in collaboration with the Musée National Picasso in Paris. Curator is Emilie Bouvard, conservationist of the Paris museum.
The exhibition will run through March 12, 2017, and will present one work for each year of Pablo Picasso's life in the period from 1895 until the 1970s.
The masterpieces include 'Les Demoiselles d'Avignon' (1907), 'The Kiss' (1931), 'La Femme qui Pleure' and 'Portrait de Marie-Thérèse'.
Paintings, sculpture and drawings will lead the visitor through the artist's pre-Cubist, Cubist, Classical, Surrealist and post-war periods.
''Verona is proud to host such an event of historic proportions,'' Mayor Flavio Tosi said. (ANSA)
