GIM Vice President Vittorio Torrembini, who took part in the initiative, reported: "We found interesting possibilities, especially in the sectors of alternative energy sources, waste management and thermal tourism." This cooperation model should also be exported to the country's other regions for the development of the fruit and vegetable sector which, in the North Caucasus, mainly uses Italian technology, Mr Torrembini said. The mission participants were offered the opportunity to visit production sites and facilities and also the nurseries, the cold storage systems, sanatoriums, diagnostic centres, trade fairs and power facilities. For next year, Mr Torrembini continued, the plan is to also invite Russian partners from other regions because, once they see the interesting things put in place in the North Caucasus region, they may want to repeat the experience elsewhere.
