‘Beyond Caravaggio’ is the first major exhibition in the UK to explore the Italian master’s work and its lasting impact on the rest of Europe. Described as a powerful exhibition about the artist and his followers that shows a man who could share his genius, it runs at the National Gallery in London until mid-January.
The Canal Foundation in Madrid presents a selection of 110 photographs by Robert Doisneau, one of the most emblematic photographers of the 20th century, famous for immortalising everyday life in the French capital. ‘Robert Doisneau: La belleza de lo cotidiano’ runs until January 8 in the Spanish capital.
And the Austrian capital is gearing up for the Vienna International Film Festival. One of the oldest and best-known festivals in the German-speaking world, it features a programme of some 300 films, with a particular focus on politically-engaged documentaries and short films.
