Ahmadinejad threatens to "wipe out" Israel if attacked

Cairo - Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has once again threatened Israel, a country that has often reiterated it wishes to stop Iran from producing nuclear weapons.

"The people of Iran are ready to march on Israel to wipe it out if it launches into an attack on Tehran" the Iranian president said, adding, "Zionists hope to attack Iran but they are very afraid of the consequences of such an attack."

Ahmedinejad is currently in Cairo on the first state visit by and Iranian head of state since Iran broke off diplomatic relations with Egypt in 1980. (AGI)
